What is Rotor System and how
does it work?
Rotor is an innovative pedalling system eliminating the dead
point. The dead point on most recumbents is the void occurring when
the pedals are horizontal (one in front of the other), which is a
moment at which neither leg can transmit any power.
The dead point limits your
performance, causes tendonitis and injuries to the knee
The cranks are independent in such
a way that they are not aligned at a fixed 180º. This way, one pedal
never coincides with the other, thus avoiding power vacuums.
Such an effect is achieved by the use of independent cranks that are
synchronised by means of an exocentric axel and two rods, which vary the
development during the pedalling cycle.
Rotor achieves a real increase in
power of up to 16% (equivalent to an average advantage of 3 minutes in an
hour), as well as a reduction in lactic acid and cardiac effort.

ROTOR REVIEW ON 'BENTRIDER
Another great review
on ROTOR Cranks, this time at the USA website
www.bentrideronline.com.The first of three reviews was just posted this week by prestigious
journalist and ‘bent cyclist, BRYAN J. BALL. Some of Bryan's comments
are quite similar to what is being said by so many other cyclists,
including:
"On the very first ride I found myself pushing high gears and climbing a
bit faster. After 200 miles, I've found myself climbing MUCH faster ...
With the Rotors I can climb up some steep local hills at 11.5km an hour
versus 9.5 without."
"My knees feel great on the Rotors ... My cadence has dropped back into
the low to mid 70's but my knees still feel much better than they did
pre-Rotor."
"After 200 miles on them I do honestly feel like they are worth it for
me. I've struggled with knee problems and my spin for years now.
Anything that will make my knees last a bit longer and help me go a
touch faster is a bargain in my book."
"...Rotor Cranks are what may be the biggest performance enhancing
add-on available on the market Today."
